The aim of the CEPG is to enhance community resilience.

The objectives are to:

  • Identify hazards within the location and community;
  • Identify available assets and resources, and key contacts in the community;
  • Assist in the identification of vulnerable people and groups within the community;
  • Identify how the local community might assist the statutory agencies; and
  • Deliver the assistance identified.

The group is independent of both Southwold Town and Reydon Parish Councils but is supported financially by both councils.

Part of the CEPG’s agreed remit is to improve residents’ knowledge of and resilience to any adverse events that might occur locally. This website page is intended to make residents aware of what information and help is available.

Any comments on this page or queries about the CEPG activities should be addressed to SRCEPG@outlook.com.

Preparation for adverse events can significantly reduce the impact and consequences of the event.

The Southwold and Reydon CEPG recommends that all residents would benefit from improving their knowledge of the environmental and other threats they are exposed to.
