Reydon Neighbourhood Plan 2019-2036
Following the successful referendum held in May 2021, the Reydon Neighbourhood Plan has now been “made” by East Suffolk Council in its capacity as the Local Planning Authority. This means that the Neighbourhood Plan has become part of the statutory planning framework for development in our village. All proposed developments must comply with the policies in the plan as appropriate to the specific proposal.Â
Thanks are due to the Steering Group which was made up of Cllr Pam Cyprien, Cllr Robert Nokes, Cllr Philip OâHear, Jenny Foot, Dexter Kirk, Ridley Burnett, Jim Elmes and John Holt. Cllr Ted Drake was also a member until he stood down from the Parish Council. Barry Tolfree gave invaluable help in laying out the first draft plan and we were extremely well supported by Officers from Waveney and now East Suffolk Council.
Our Neighbourhood Plan allows the community of Reydon to influence:
âĒ the shape and nature of future building development in the village
âĒ the way the countryside around the village is protected
âĒ how the character of the village is maintained and improved
âĒ planning to ensure the village can deal with issues such as flood risks
âĒ the provision of infrastructure (such as sewerage, drainage, roads, public rights of way and parking) so that it meets the needs of the village.
