Meet Local Kids Author Lisa Nickell-Lean With Her New Picturebook, Snoring is Boring, Plus Dog Crafts!
Wednesday, 22nd July, 11am
Snoring is Boring is an enchanting introductory tale of an energetic little girl enticing her sleepy dog to more exciting activities other than boring snoring and sleeping! Will he ever wake up and join in? Maybe, especially if it’s to discover fun seaside attractions in sunny Southwold.
The author writes, “I’m Lisa ‘a not wanting to retire’ nursery school teacher. I live in my favourite town Southwold, a children’s heaven by the sea. There are so many exciting places to discover which I hope to introduce to young readers in future books. Becky Carozza is the illustrator and my bestie’s daughter. She’s a talented artist and graphic designer who has worked at Oxford University Press. This is our first children’s book that we have worked on together.’

Summer Reading Quest: Curious Creatures
Get involved in our summer reading programme for children, open to all ages and all reading abilities!
Reading Quest is an exciting opportunity to get the whole family involved in reading and making memories this summer!
Children of all ages can sign up at any library and receive their case file from 18th July onwards. You can sign up at any time during the school holidays to start your journey.
You don’t need to read a set number of books – our summer reading programme is designed to encourage children to enjoy reading at their own pace in a fun, interactive way. Reading for pleasure helps children build self-esteem and improve wellbeing throughout life.
Each time you visit the Library, bring your case file back to receive a sticker or two to celebrate your reading journey! Collect a case file from the Library to get started.
When you complete the Reading Quest you will receive a medal, a certificate and, at Southwold Library, a cuddly creature.
